My everyday makeup

Just a quick one today while I finish off a longer post I've been working on. I went to dinner the other night and actually had the forethought to photograph my makeup. This is my go to makeup for work, or simple nights out, it's minimal and quick to do but wearing eye shadow always makes me feel like I've made an effort.
Foundation - Make Up For Ever Water Blend in Pink Alabaster
Concealers - Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover in Porcelain // Fenty Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch in 100
Blush - Nip/Fab Liquid Blush in Mauve Movement
Brows - Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Ash Brown // NYX Tinted Brow Mascara in Espresso
Eyeshadow - Morphe Hot Spot Palette shades Babe's Night Out and Spotted
Lashes - Glossier Lash Slick
Lips - Lipstick Queen Saint Lipstick in shade Bright Berry
I'm sure I will have posted this exact look in the past because I've favoured the orange / terracotta eye for a long time now, however the products have definitely changed over the years.
I was helping out in the makeup store PAM last year for a few days while they were in a bind, they are my go to stockist for Make Up For Ever so while I was there I thought I would give the Water Blend foundation a go. I've used Ultra HD in the past so I know the brand has shades that work for me but I'd heard good things about Water Blend from other artists. It definitely lives up to it's name, it's the runniest foundation I think I have ever encountered, but I really love it. I was worried it wouldn't be high enough coverage for my troublesome skin but actually it works fine and looks a lot more natural and dewy. It's buildable to an extent which helps and then I just go in with extra concealer. It's a great everyday foundation and also beautiful for the summer months when you don't want to feel smothered.
I've used the Bobbi Brown concealer for a long time now and I always liked to use their foundation in the past. (I've not gone off the foundation at all, I'm just experimenting with others right now such as the one I've just talked about.) The Fenty concealer however is a new addition, I can't say I'm in love but I use small amounts as a lighter shade where I need the highlights.
I grabbed the Morphe palette in TKMaxx last summer because it was affordable and had plenty of different shades to play with. I'd used Morphe brushes in the past but was yet to try any of their cosmetics and discovered they're great for the price tag. I used to use two shades from the Kat Von D Shade and Light eyeshadow palette which were almost identical but I've switched to Morphe at the moment for speed. It's so much quicker to work with eyeshadows that aren't as highly pigmented, no fighting fall out. I still adore that KVD palette though so it's my go to when I have more time.
Everything else I've talked about in recent posts so I won't bore you all over again. I remember a time I wouldn't go anywhere without a swish of black liner over my top lashes, these days the only time I wear eyeliner is with lashes, maybe I should bring it back? What do you think?

  1. Such a pretty makeup look! I love your hair, it's gorgeous. I really need to try the Bobbi Brown concealer. I only have their foundations and corrector, but yet to try a concealer of theirs xx
