New Beauty Buys at TKMaxx

Evening all, it's been a couple of weeks since my last post. I wouldn't blame you for thinking I'd had a short-lived comeback, but I just got absolutely swamped with work. A good thing of course, and being a self-employed makeup artist it means the hours are long, the sleep is minimal and I can be known to take on a little too much.

However, I have a couple of days off and I've got stuff I want to share! I'll start with an easy one, a tiny haul from TKMaxx last weekend. Naturally I didn't go in for beauty products, I was looking for a coat. I left with two coats (neither perfect) and a few fun beauty items I'd been eyeing up for a while.

I adore TKMaxx in general but the beauty area is one of the most exciting places to root around in. I do have to be quite restrained, given my job I definitely do not need to be buying more makeup. I find it's a great place to pick up the odd product you weren't expecting to see at bargain prices, (Hi Elizabeth Arden 8hr Cream) lashes and some of the more unusual items like the one's I went for this week.

Lets get the blenders out of the way quickly because to be honest I don't have a lot to say about them, I just thought my kit could use a couple of new ones and they were only £4.99 for the pair. I definitely favour a brush but there are instances when I find it nicer to buff a product in with a sponge. The addition of a hyaluronic acid infusion did peak my interest but I'm not expecting it to cause a whole lot of difference.

These bad boys are what I'm most excited about, I've seen people using various facial rollers all over the internet for a while now, YES I want a beauty fridge to keep them in too, but that's a fight I have to have with myself in private.

Black Onyx Roller + Face Serum (£9.99): There were a couple of different rollers but I settled on this one pretty much because the gold was more rustic than the others. I'm eye rolling at myself too don't worry. Now I don't know a great deal about facial rollers, why they're made of different materials and whether or not this is a good one for me, but on the packaging it says that it will rejuvenate and refresh the skin. I've been so exhausted the last three weeks that this statement alone made me crave it's cool touch on my eye bags. The serum it comes with is a Vitamin C + Hyaluronic acid mix intended to balance complexion so I'm looking forward to giving them a go. I'm going to keep Instagram updated at the very least with how this works out for me.

Microneedle Face Roller (£4.99): SO, I'll be honest..this I bought because it intrigued me, and it looked sharp, and for some reason the thought of rolling loads of little pins over my face is really appealing. I've got one of those acupressure spiky mats that you lie on, it hurts, but it hurts so good. I imagine this contraption being similar but for the face. As far as I understand it helps generate more collagen which promotes smoother, better toned skin. I hope that's right! It does warn you to fully remove your makeup first and sterilise the roller afterwards which makes sense when you're going to be jabbing needles into it. I'm not sure what to really expect from this one, I just KNOW I'll wake up looking like a plucked chicken because such is my luck, so I'll be trying it when I don't have work the next day. Again, I'll report back so keep an eye on my IG stories.

I did buy one other item which I haven't shared here but I'm hoping to give it a post of it's own, watch this space. In the meantime if you have any tips about how I should be using these two rollers I need all the help I can get. My poor face.
